I'm planning a hiking trip to Stirling next month and need to hire a car to access some of the trails. Does anyone have recommendations for reliable car hire companies in the area? Ideally looking for something affordable but reliable, and a car that can handle some rough tracks. Any tips on booking in advance vs. on arrival? Thanks!

I've found Peak Rentals to be the most reliable in the area. They're not always the cheapest, but their vehicles are newer and they don't hit you with unexpected charges at the end. Worth paying a bit extra for peace of mind.

I'd recommend checking out Europcar. They have a location near the train station and their prices are competitive. I hired a Nissan Qashqai from them last summer and it was perfect for the narrow roads around the area.
